Cars 2 Monopoly
Combine a classic board game with a cool animated film about cars and you have a success story. Cars 2 Monopoly is less complicated than the classic format so it’s perfect for younger players with a passion for all things car-related. Ingenious, fun and absorbing, it’s brand new for 2011 and set to take toy land by storm.
The idea is simple: the cars compete to climb the property ladder. Despite the different format and player pieces, there are plenty of reassuringly familiar features from the classic board game. The Free Parking space suddenly becomes an awesome place to land but you’ll still want to stay out of jail. It’s nice to see the designers kept the Chance cards, which add a wild card element into the game that will appeal to kids and keep play fresh and interesting.
Cars 2 Monopoly is aimed at boys and girls aged 5 and up. Unlike the adult versions, the average game play time is around 20 minutes. The properties are character-themed, the property buying and rent collection process is simpler and the race track spinner designed to appeal to kids. The board is circular and there aren’t as many spaces to land on so it doesn’t take as long to complete a circuit.
Why settle for a game or a car when you could combine both in one cool toy? Already tipped to be a bestseller, Cars 2 Monopoly has got Christmas stocking filler written all over it. Priced at around £25 it’s a bit of a bargain that will keep the little people engaged for ages.
