Amazon.co.uk - launched online in October 1998 and aims to be the world’s most customer-centric company, where people can find and research anything they might want to buy online, read reviews from fellow users and often features the lowest prices online.
Argos - part of the Home Retail Group they have over 700 stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland. It's estimated that 18 million UK households have a copy of their catalogue, and their online presence accounts for around 26% of their total sales.
Boots - with over 2,600 stores their range of products extend well beyond the health & beauty ranges that are best know for. Their extensive range of products include many baby and preschool toys and games.
Hamleys - William Hamley opened Hamleys back in 1760, fulfilling a dream to build the worlds best toy shop. The store can still be found at 188-196 Regent Street London, or you can of course visit them online.
John Lewis - was founded in 1864, when John Lewis leased a store selling drapery. A company with a proud tradition they continue to offer a high quality shopping experience - they were voted best high street retailer in the 2009 Which? Awards.
Play.com - established in 1998 they may be better know as a music, dvd and video games retailer but they also stock a huge range of toys. They won MCV: Best Online Retailer 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006.
Prezzy Box - founded in 2000 by Zak Edwards they specialise in gifts, gadgets and toys for all ages. Many of the products that they stock could be described as quirky or unusual and if you are stuck for ideas a visit to their website is highly recommended.
Sainsbury's - opened their first store on Drury Lane, London back in 1869. Today they have 502 supermarkets and 290 convenience stores. Their range of toys include brands such as Plamobil, LEGO & Fisher-Price.
Toysrus - currently have 73 stores in the UK and over 1500 stores across the world, with a presence in 33 countries. Their products range from baby toys to multimedia pcs & they have been trading online since 1996.
