There’s no rest for the wicked in LEGO City! Mobile Police Unit Set 7288 works equally well as a standalone toy or as an extension of the larger LEGO City Police Station. Brand new for 2011, this 408-piece set is compact but packs alot of features into one kick-ass crime-fighting unit.
Aimed at children aged 5-12 it’s attracted plenty of positive reviews and has earned its reputation as a must have toy.
The truck is the star of the LEGO City Mobile Police Unit. Big rig meets control centre in one vehicle, which measures 33cm long when fully constructed. It’s a fun build and has lots of ingenious features, including an opening side that reveals a control unit equipped with TV screens, flat screen computers, desks, chairs, a coffee machine and CCTV unit.
The truck cab features headlights, moveable wing mirrors and blue tinted window. Inside the cab you’ll find 2 seats (unusual for a LEGO vehicle) with beds behind for long stakeouts.
The cab detaches from the body of the vehicle. You’ll also find a jail cell area for keeping criminals off the streets.The truck may steal the show but the little red sports car is pretty cool and increases the role playing possibilities. There’s also the police motorbike with its chunky tyres and blue light on the rear. Car chase, anyone?
No LEGO set would be complete without minifigs and the LEGO City Mobile Police Unit is no exception. You’ll find 3 minifigs inside the box: 2 police officers and 1 robber. Accessories include handcuffs, a torch, a magnifying glass that actually works and a bar of gold – everything you need to re-enact a grand theft in the big bad city!
