The LEGO City Police Station will pass muster with brick kings and queens everywhere. The brand new and exclusive 2011 version of the best selling set is bound to be on toy lists this year. Tesco have already earmarked this set for success, naming it as one of their top 10 must-have Christmas toys.
Primarily aimed at boys aged 6-12 it will no doubt be a wish list item for LEGO collectors too. If you’re struggling to find a great gift, this one could save your bacon. Sorry, couldn’t resist! Special features and ingenious details make it a pretty impressive piece.
What’s so great about the latest version? The new and improved LEGO Police Station (No. 7498) has an impressive 783 pieces. Let’s just say it’s an engaging and enjoyable build! Expect to spend around 2 hours putting everything together.
The end result is well worth the effort and illustrates why this new set has been highlighted as one of this year’s hot toys. The LEGO City Police Station is a real monster that consists of an admin building, cells, garages, cool little police vehicles and of course- minifigures.
Speaking of which, you will find 6 minifigs inside; 4 officers of the law and 2 robbers. No police station would be complete without a K-9 unit. The police dog with bone is a nice little touch.
You also get 2 police vans and a bicycle, plus a whole host of accessories such as handcuffs, keys, coffee cups a water cooler, crowbar, LEGO bank notes and a ‘wanted’ poster.
There are so many well-designed details in LEGO 7498 but one in particular stands out. It’s not the most extravagant but the camera and height chart for criminals’ mug shots is a stroke of genius!
