Ingenious, absorbing and reasonably priced, the LEGO City Powerboat Transporter (Set No. 4643) has all the hallmarks of a Christmas stocking filler. Big rig meets super cool powerboat in one package. Brand new for 2011, it combines cool road and water vehicles in one package. Cruise down the highways or bounce along the waves – it’s your call.
The boat can float very well in water, which adds to the role playing possibilities nicely.
This is a fun build with 254 pieces aimed at little boys aged 5 and up and blends value for money with playability. It may be a relatively simple set but the LEGO City Powerboat Transporter has already got great reviews from brick fans far and wide, making it a must have toy.
Inside the box you’ll find a long-bed, 10-wheel truck in bright yellow and a badass power boat in pillar box red and yellow with a white hull. You certainly can’t miss these vehicles. The truck measures 30cm long x 7xcm tall and the boat comes in at 20cm long x 2cm wide.
The boat is the star of the set and has a bit of a James Bond look and feel with its go faster stripes and sleek, streamlined shape. The back is nicely designed with connectors and a little storage area for life jackets. There are 2 seats inside and a dashboard with steering wheel.
The truck cab has space for 1 minifig on a red chair. Look inside the driver’s cab and you’ll find a steering wheel and coffee cup. The exterior is pretty cool with headlights, moving wing mirrors and black and white chequered stickers for the roof. The cab detaches from the trailer bed easily.
The LEGO City Powerboat Transporter includes 2 driver minifigures with different facial expressions plus 2 red hats, 2 helmets and 2 life jackets.
