Embark on a mission to Mars with the LEGO City Space Centre. This beautifully designed 494-piece set comes with all the whistles and bells a brick fan could possibly want. It’s a brilliant role playing toy and doubles up as a stunning showpiece. If you want an engaging and fun build, look no further.
Open the box and you’ll find plenty of cool little accessories which make this set worth every penny. The LEGO Space Centre comes complete with launch platform (25cm tall), mission control centre (5cm tall), space buggy, tool station and satellite fuelling system. The attention to detail is first class and adds to the playability. There are tons of thoughtful little touches, including a phone in ground control, mini countdown boards plus computers in the control room.
The star of the set is of course the rocket, which stands at an impressive 36cm tall. Get the engineers to fill it up with fuel and use the ingenious working lift to get the astronaut on board. The rocket opens easily and inside you’ll find a cockpit complete with seating and screen. Then it’s time to and start the nail-biting countdown from mission control.
No LEGO playset would be complete without minifigures. The Space Centre doesn’t disappoint on that front. There are 4 in total; astronaut, controller and two space engineers all kitted out in full uniform. Nice to see that one of the engineers is female!
Although it’s aimed at 6-12 year-olds, The LEGO City Space Centre will be a big hit with older fans as well. Pick it up for around £50.
