LEGO Friends City Park Cafe
It’s brick building – but not as you know it! Brand new for 2012, the LEGO Friends City Park Cafe is part of a fresh range aimed at girls. The dolls and playsets are based around the fab lives of five friends who live in the fictional town of Heartlake City, USA. It’s all about construction-based role play with a realistic, character-driven twist and incredible attention to detail.
The fab five are: Stephanie, Emma, Olivia, Mia and Andrea. Each character has a distinct personality and set of interests. They’re brought to life in the form of cool, stylised mini-dolls that are 5mm taller than the traditional minifigures.
The LEGO Friends City Park Cafe (Set No. 3601) is the girls’ favourite downtown hangout. Before they can chill out and catch up on all the gossip, the cafe has to be constructed. It’s an intricately detailed 222-piece set that comes with two mini-doll figures, Andrea and Mia.
The set has a baby blue base plate – one of three brand new LEGO colours exclusive to the range. The accessories are awesome – there are tons of them. There are cute little ice cream sundaes, hamburgers, a bright yellow frying pan and dinky hob, lots of flowerpots, cupcakes, a bubblegum machine and a broom for cleaning up afterwards. Look in the sink and you’ll find little items, such as knives and forks. Items such as mustard, ketchup and salt and pepper add extra detail. There are also some extra pieces, including two plates, a mixer, cupcake stand and bowl in an exclusive shade of yellow.
The white and pink serving counter is one of the outstanding features of the LEGO Friends City Park Cafe. There’s a soda machine with working handle, an ice cream and a dinky cash register with pull-our drawer underneath.
There are oodles of opportunities for different role play scenarios. It’s simple and quick to build and you can customise and decorate without having to take everything apart. What more could a girl possibly want?
