The basic scenario with the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle, set number 4842, is that the Dementors have surrounded Hogwarts, and a showdown between young Harry and Lord Voldemort is imminent! Harry and Dumbledore stand up to He Who Must Not Be Named while Professors McGonagall and Flitwick attempt to keep the school safe.
The LEGO Hogwarts Castle has all the incredible detailing you’d expect from LEGO. Among the 1290 pieces are 10 mini-figures of much-loved characters including Harry, Hermione Granger, Lord Voldemort, Professors Dumbledore, Snape, McGonagall and Flitwick, and Argus Filch with his cat, not to mention Mrs Norris and a couple of Dementors.
You’ll also find the famous Sorting Hat, Gryffindor’s Sword, a Basilisk fang and a secret sliding staircase. Gryffindor’s common room incorporates a fireplace with the face of Sirius Black, the Restricted Section of the library and the Great Hall. LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle comprises four different buildings with technical pins making it possible to re-order and alter the design. There are also hinges for folding.
Each of the four buildings has different rooms. The first, an open top tower, features the Astronomy Tower, part of the library and the Room of Requirement, along with the vanishing cabinet, books and a telescope. The second and tallest building, Gryffindor Tower, has several smaller rooms including the Gryffindor and Slytherin Common Rooms and the Owlery.
Central to the set is The Great Hall, with its long tables with benches, the Gryffindor and Slytherin House flags, food, and the Sorting Hat. The final building is another tower including Dumbledore's Office.
Priced from £100, the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle is aimed at young Harry Potter fans aged between 8 and 14.
