The ship is the star of the set, measuring 50cm tall x 66cm wide. It’s a beautiful build and quite a challenge, which is why LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Queen Anne’s Revenge is aimed at fans aged 9 and above. LEGO have done a brilliant job in capturing the spirit of the film. The ship is every inch the pirate vessel, with bones, skulls on the sails, burning skeletons, lanterns and the Jolly Roger flag.
The features and moving parts come a close second. Check out the moving cannons. Steer the ship with the helm. Detach the captain’s quarters. It all makes for an absorbing play experience.
The 7 minifigures are particularly pleasing and come with little hats, swords and shields. Jack Sparrow has a two-sided face and comes with his trademark useless compass! You also get Blackbeard and Angelica, along with zombie crew: 1 quartermaster, 1 cook and 2 zombie pirates. Each minifig has its own collectible card.
