Budding engineers will love this product, a mobile base for Power Miners. The LEGO Power Miners Titanium Command Rig is a mobile HQ which functions as both a huge moving vehicle and a static, upright mining platform.
With a powerful spinning drill complete with two gears, and huge, rumbling wheels, this kit of over 700 pieces has all the detail and accessories you’ve come to expect from technical Lego. As the rig moves, the drill spins. And you’ll have to keep an eye out for the red rock-hurling monster, nearly 7cm tall, which comes as part of the package with his levered throwing arm!
The LEGO Power Miners Titanium Command Rig set, the largest so far with the power miners theme, also includes a blue rock monster, and three mini-figures, including a scientist (‘Brains’) a power miner (‘Duke’) and a boss (‘Doc’).
There’s a cage and a crane for holding rock monsters, and a lab for examining them. You also get a net shooter, dynamite launcher and a zip line to transport the monster cage.
The large-scale rig is 33cm long in its vertical position, and nearly half a metre tall. Best enjoyed by slightly older children aged between eight and 14, this toy will get them to work their imaginations while helping them learn fine motor skills. It will also give them an early understanding of engineering through, for example, the way the moving parts fit together.
