Spykee Cell Robot
Taking mobile phone usage to a new and pretty cool level, the unique Meccano Spykee Cell Robot allows children to control and communicate with him via a mobile, using Bluetooth technology.
Before the science works its magic, kids have to use their brains and hand-to-eye coordination skills to construct him.
Once built, he’s fully equipped for action with a motorised head, Bluetooth wireless module, micro digital camera, microphone, stereo loudspeakers, LED lights and 2 motors. Then the fun begins.
So, what can Spykee Cell do? Kids can control his movements, and see what he sees on their mobile phone screens. Send him charging around the house and see what mum’s up to or into the garden to discover what’s going on out there. He’s able to create video clips, take and save photos and is also also a mobile music centre with an iPod dock that can also be controlled using a phone. View playlists remotely and listen to favourite tunes through his stereo speakers.
Another clever little feature to experiment with is the voice deformation function. Kids can talk through Spykee’s speakers and try a number of vocal distortions. He also has the ability to be able to act as a hands-free receiver for phone calls, and can be programmed to create special effects using his LED lights.
